SBI Syllabus and Exam Pattern:


State Bank of India announced the new paper pattern for SBI PO 2016 examination. 

Selection Procedure for SBI PO 2016:


The selection procedure of State Bank Of India will be divided into 3 parts, consisting of 2 written papers and GD/Interview round. The Preliminary examination is only for qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total. Only those who qualify through Phase 2 will be eligible to attend Phase 3 processes. The scores of the remaining two rounds will be normalized to 100 for final selection as follows:

SBI PO 2016 Exam Pattern – PRELIMS (Phase I):


SBI PO 2016 Exam Pattern – PRELIMS (Phase I)

NOTE: There will be negative marking as penalty for wrong answers equal to one fourth of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no negative marking for unattended questions.

SBI PO 2016 Exam Pattern – MAINS (Phase II):

The SBI main exam will be in 2 parts. It will be conducted online.

1. Objective Test (200 marks)
2. Descriptive Test (25 marks)

NOTE: There will be negative marking as penalty for wrong answers equal to one fourth of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no negative marking for unattended questions.

Pattern of the Mains Descriptive Test:


The descriptive paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 25 marks assigned to the test of English Language. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay. You will be needed to secure passing marks to qualify the Descriptive Test, to be decided by the Bank.

NOTE: The Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

SBI PO 2016 Exam Pattern – GROUP DISCUSSION & INTERVIEW (Phase III):

Aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both Objective and Descriptive Tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. A certain adequate number of candidates as decided by the bank, will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview.
